The gorgeous Cove Cottage is just about as quintessentially English as they come. This picturesque Orné style cottage, with plaster walls and shutter casement windows, dates from the 18th Century and has been carefully renovated to provide modern comfort whilst retaining the original features of the property. Just a two minute stroll from the iconic Lulworth Cove, on England’s only natural UNESCO World Heritage coastline, this thatched cottage is the perfect property for a special getaway. Immaculately furnished and finished, you’ll wake to the sounds of the birds singing in the apple tree and the echo of the waves lapping on the beach.  This cottage is pet-free.
To help you make the most of your stay, a welcome folder with information about the cottage and local area is provided, and our Holidays Team are happy to recommend places to eat or where to find the best local produce. For stays of three nights or more, guests will also receive a welcome basket with locally produced bread, eggs, milk, biscuits, jam, tea, coffee and sugar.

Layout:

Cove Cottage offers three bedrooms, each with luxury Hypnos beds, and two bathrooms, accommodating a total of six people. We provide goose down and microfibre pillows, and luxuriously crisp white Beaumont & Brown linen for your comfort. The second and third bedrooms have two super king beds, which can be set up as single beds on request.

The well-appointed family-size bathroom, on the top level, has a shower over a bath and a heated towel rail. A comfortable cotton robe is also provided for each person, along with fluffy white towels, and Lulworth body wash, hand soap and shampoo.

A reading room at the heart of the house has comfy seating, feature fireplace, telephone, and a well-stocked bookcase. The sitting room, with its sofas and large double aspect windows, features a state-of-the-art discreet TV and a gas fire log-burner.

The dining room, accessed off the entryway, has a spacious table for eight beside a gorgeous inglenook fireplace. There is a boot room for convenient storage of your coats, walking shoes and watersports equipment.

There is also a convenient utility room with a washer/dryer .

A fully-equipped kitchen is found on the first level of the property. The kitchen has a dishwasher, pantry, 70/30 fridge-freezer, and electric oven and grill with 4 burner hob. The kitchen leads directly onto the secluded paved terrace with a large table and seating for six – the ultimate in al-fresco dining. The property’s gorgeous cottage garden, featuring established flowerbeds, mature shrubs, grass lawn and a sun terrace with table and chairs beside the bubbling spring, is equally perfect for relaxing after a hard day on the beach or water.


Cove Cottage is located on a pedestrianised street that runs through the village’s restaurants, cafés, gift shops, The Doll’s House Confectionary Shop and ice cream kiosks, leading directly down to Lulworth Cove. At certain points of the day, you may have the beach entirely to yourselves! The property includes allocated off-road parking for two vehicles within a private gated driveway. Complimentary parking across the Lulworth Estate is included in your stay upon receipt of your car registration numbers, giving unlimited access to Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and Lulworth Castle Park. For exploring further afield, a bus stop in West Lulworth village provides links to Poole, Weymouth and Swanage. 

Central heating and good Wi-Fi are included in your holiday. Phone signal may be limited so we have provided a landline for local calls.

Please note: We do not recommend this property for families with small children or those with mobility issues due to its period features, notably the several flights of rather steep stairs. Cove Cottage is situated close to the area of the Lulworth Ranges, where military training and live firing may be heard dependent on wind direction. We recommend checking the MOD firing times in advance of your stay to help you plan accordingly by following this link.
